The title of the film is a Sudanese phrase which translates literally into "the rooster's sleep on a rope." Figuratively it refers to a person who tries to sleep standing, trapped between a state of slumber and wakefulness, one who is stuck in limbo; such is the reality of Sudanese refugees living in Cairo.

The film is an ode to all refugees in the world who are searching for a sense of identity and belonging, who are struggling to live with hope. Through multiple diverse and complex characters from the Sudan, an intricate mosaic of their lives unfolds, painting a vivid reality of what it is like to be a refugee.

عنوان الفيلم هو مثل سوداني يعني " نوم الديك على الحبل " بشكل مجازي ، يشير إلي الشخص الذي يحاول النوم واقفاً ، محاصراً بين حالة من النوم والاستيقاظ ، شخص عالق في طي النسيان ، وهذا هو واقع اللاجئين الذين يعيشون في القاهرة .
الفيلم هو قصيدة لكل اللاجئين قي العالم الذين يبحثوا عن الانتماء و الشعور بالهوية ويكافحوا للعيش والتمسك بالأمل ، و من خلال العديد من الشخصيات المتنوعة من السودان نكتشف تفاصيل معقدة من حياتهم ، التي
